And like you've been saying, criticizing Obama because of the people that he knows is stupid and proves how little there is to get on Obama himself about.
But the fact is, the media and people who go along with whatever they say (liberal or conservative), are all over him because of it. Which I also don't find surprising.
However, listening to this past week's Bill Moyers' Journal made me realize something that I can't believe I missed.
Where is the media and public outrage at John McCain for accepting and embracing the endorsements of John Hagee and Pat Robertson?
In the past, John McCain actually called these same people "agents of intolerance". John Hagee has called Catholics evil and is calling for us to make as much war in the Middleast as we can because we need to start that whole end times thing so that we're on the right side. Pat Robertson has said that 9/11, Katrina, and various awful things happening to our troops in the war are "God's retribution for homosexuality and our otherwise immoral way of life"
How is that any different than anything that Rev. Wright has said?
I know that anyone here would probably think it's all the same and some pretty bad shit, but I think the real issue here is the unbelievable hypocrisy or downright ignorance of the media and many of our fellow citizens as a whole.
The double standard as it were.
Bill Moyers suggested that the reaction comes down to race. I find it very hard to disagree.

i think atheism is a lot of peoples way of life..i think people live for themselves and not some myth out of a book..
sure we have earth but did he create it or was it here aready?
clinton should have never run in the first place, she was in office already serving instead of bill anyways..i think the president campaign is alot of mumble jumble anyway
give me a break I mean what do they really do for us anyways..gas prices a soaring to all time highs, the cost of living is through the roof..they are take peoples homes and security from them to benefit their own cause...
they are letting people work to take all their money in one form or another...
i think that they should get off their asses and instead of selling our oil let the U.S. people have what is theirs and same with electric instead of seeing it to the japs, and raising our prices cuz they sell ours and buy from a higher person so they can have an excuse to bankrupt our country.
this world is our world we create the way we live not god
